What is Social Play?
Spend time playing, not planning!
Social Play allows you to play tennis whenever you want to.
Traditionally, planning a social game can become difficult. With countless email and text exchanges, you may be lucky to find enough friends to fill the court when you want to play. Or, you play with the same group every time.
With TennisFolder, getting a Social Play together is a breeze. Create a Social Play event and see it get filled automatically!

How does it work?
A Social Play event is a particular game. It is specific. The type, rating, gender, location are all part of the definition of the game.
When someone creates a Social Play event, invitations go out based on the game details, and the event gets filled on a first come, first serve basis.
For example, I am a 3.5 Female player and I want to play Doubles at Jade Street Park. I would create a Social Play event, and the invitation would go to other female 3.5 players that like to play at Jade Street Park. The first 3 to accept the invite are confirmed into the game with me.
Create a Social Play
A Social Play is a tennis game. To create a Social Play event, you will define the following:
- Game Type – Singles, Doubles, or Mixed
- Invite Type – Public or Private. A private invitation will only go to your friends on TennisFolder. A public invitation will go to anyone.
- Where – Select the venue you would like to play at. TennisFolder will not reserve the court.
- Direct Invite – This is for already confirmed players. For example, if you have a partner already, and are looking for two more for a Doubles game. (Optional)
- When – The date and time of the game
- Invite +/- half-rating – By default, the game is at your NTRP rating. However, you can optionally invite a half-rating above and below yourself.
- Notes – An optional field for this game. As an example, you may want to put in the court number you reserved
Please note that to create a Social Play event, you must be a Socialite member. Free members on TennisFolder can only receive Social Play invitations.
Respond to an Invitation
You will receive invitations based on your Profile settings.
In your Profile, you have defined:
- Gender
- NTRP Rating
- Time Slot – The time of day you are available to play tennis.
- Play Type – Any combination of Singles, Doubles, Mixed can be selected.
- Friends Only – Only receive invitations from my friends.
- Venues – Which venues I play at
The Social Play invitations you receive will be filtered on these settings.
Once you accept an invitation, you are in and will receive a confirmation once the game fills.
What types of invitations will I receive?
You might be wondering what types of Social Play invitations you will receive. You have a Social Play Profile with some options that will filter the types of invitations you receive:
- Venues -These are the only venues you will receive invitations for.
- Time Slot – This defines what time of day you like to play. Select only the times you would like to receive invitations for.
- Play Type – What type of game do you like to play (Singles, Doubles, Mixed).
- Receive Invitations from friends only – Selecting this will limit invitations only from your friends on TennisFolder.
